Coilovers for Mitsubishi Evolution
|
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE September 8, 2006 Zzyzx Motorsports announces coilovers for the Mitsubishi Evolution Jake Diehl, owner of Dieman Motorsports, decided early in 2006 to work with Zzyzx Motorsports to prototype a set of coilovers for the nemesis of the Subaru WRX STi: the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. In this case, an Evolution IX MR. Jake's goal was to invest in a suspension that would position his Evo as a nationally competition Street Touring U entry for 2006 and beyond in other more highly modified SCCA Solo classes. As with Zzyzx Motorsports Subaru competition coilovers, this design revolves around the versatile Koni 8611 double-adjustable shock. All the exceptional benefits of our competition coilovers we've offered for Subarus, now apply to the Mitsubishi Evolution. Steve Sulatycki, owner of Zzyzx Motorsports, comments, "Unlike the Subaru, the Evo is a true multilink setup in the rear, which reduces complexity of the strut design. Our primary goal was to offer maximum camber adjustment up front with significantly enhanced suspension travel. I can confidently say we succeeded at both." He continues, "With every new design, there are usually issues to work out. With the Evo design, we pretty much nailed it on the first iteration. It pays to do your homework up front."
